Terms of Service

Effective date: March 13, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RedaktPDF ("Service"), operated by Jury D'Ambros ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service at redaktpdf.com, you agree to these Terms.

Operator Identification

This Service is operated by Jury D'Ambros, sole proprietor (ditta individuale), in compliance with Italian Legislative Decree 70/2003 (D.Lgs. 70/2003) implementing the E-Commerce Directive.

1. Service Description

RedaktPDF is an online PDF editor that allows you to add text, images, annotations, and manage pages in PDF documents. Files are processed in your browser with optional end-to-end encryption for registered users.

2. User Accounts

You may use the Service without an account (as an anonymous user) or create a free account for additional features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must not share your credentials with third parties.

3. Subscription Plans

We offer free and paid subscription plans (Pro and Business). Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. Paddle handles payment processing, invoicing, VAT collection, and refunds.

By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Paddle's Terms of Use and acknowledge that Paddle is the seller of the subscription.

  • Billing cycle: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
  • Price changes: We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions are not affected until the next renewal.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel at any time. Your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
  • Downgrades: When a paid subscription ends, your account reverts to the Free tier. Files beyond the Free retention window will be deleted according to our retention policy.

4. Right of Withdrawal

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), consumers in the European Economic Area have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason.

However, by subscribing to a paid plan and requesting immediate access to the Service, you expressly consent to the performance of the contract beginning immediately. You acknowledge that, once you access the Service, you lose your right of withdrawal pursuant to Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU, which provides an exception for contracts for the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium where performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal is lost.

If you do not access the Service within the 14-day withdrawal period, you may exercise your right of withdrawal by contacting us at support@redaktpdf.com.

5. File Handling and Retention

Files uploaded to RedaktPDF are automatically deleted based on your account tier:

  • Anonymous users: 2 hours
  • Free accounts: 24 hours
  • Pro accounts: 7 days
  • Business accounts: 30 days

We do not access, read, or analyse the content of your files. When end-to-end encryption is enabled, files are encrypted in your browser before upload and cannot be decrypted by our servers.

6. Acceptable Use

The Service is intended for users aged 16 or older. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 16 years of age. If you are under 16, you may not use the Service.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to exploit the Service
  • Circumvent usage limits, authentication, or security measures
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, except as permitted by applicable law
  • Use automated tools to access the Service beyond the provided API (Business tier)
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of the files you upload and edit. We claim no rights to your content. The Service itself, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including EU consumer protection law.

9. Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for any downtime or data loss resulting from service interruptions.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions.

If you are a consumer in the EEA, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
