RedaktPDF is a privacy-first online PDF editor. It lets you add text, images, and annotations to any PDF, manage pages, redact sensitive information, and more — all directly in your browser, with no software to install.

Why RedaktPDF exists

Most online PDF tools require you to upload your documents to a remote server where they're processed in the clear. That means your contracts, medical records, tax forms, and personal files pass through someone else's infrastructure with no guarantee of confidentiality.

RedaktPDF was built to change that. Every file is encrypted in your browser with end-to-end encryption before it ever leaves your device. The server stores only ciphertext — it never sees your actual content. When your retention period expires, files are automatically deleted.

How it works

RedaktPDF runs entirely in the browser using modern web technologies. PDF rendering is handled client-side with PDF.js, and editing operations are performed locally before being saved. This architecture means your documents are never exposed to the server in an unencrypted state.

The editor supports a full range of operations: adding and editing text with 33+ fonts, inserting images, freehand drawing, highlighting, whiteout redaction, and page management including reordering, rotating, duplicating, and deleting pages. You can also merge, split, and compress PDFs.

Built for privacy, not for data collection

RedaktPDF doesn't sell your data, doesn't track what you edit, and doesn't embed third-party trackers in your documents. The business model is straightforward: a generous free tier for occasional use, and a Pro plan for professionals who need higher limits, no watermarks, and longer file retention.

Who's behind it

RedaktPDF is built and operated by Jury D'Ambros, an independent software developer based in Mantova, Italy. The project is run as a sole proprietorship (ditta individuale) under Italian law.
